Harry James Lindsey first entered the French theatre of war in July 1915, as a Corporal in the 8th Battalion, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, and, having won his first M.M. for gallantry near Hill 60 between 7-10 June 1917, added a Bar to his decoration for subsequent gallant deeds as a C.S.M. in June 1918, when the Battalion was engaged in heavy fighting against the Austrians on San Sisto Ridge, not least on the 15th.
Lindsey later served in the 2nd Dragoons.
