Henry George Travers Strickland was born on 26 September 1852. First appointment as Surgeon at Netley Hospital, March 1875. Served on H.M.S. Achilles, January 1882-October 1884, seeing service in the Egyptian War of 1882. Served as Surgeon a the Hong Kong Hospital, October 1885-January 1887. Placed on Half Pay as Staff Surgeon in July 1887. Died of Double Pneumonia whilst still in the Service at the Portland Sick Quarters, 8 February 1891. With copied death certificate, will and roll extracts.
