Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R., 1st issue (J. A. Peters, A/Ldg. Sto. V11140 R.C.N.V.R.) nearly extremely fine £200-250

Joseph Albinas Peters enrolled in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve as an Ordinary Seaman on 7 April 1934. He was promoted to Able Seaman in August 1936 and reverted to Stoker 2nd Class, January 1940; Stoker 1st Class, January 1941; Acting Leading Stoker, August 1942; Leading Stoker and Acting Stoker Petty Officer, August 1943; Stoker Petty Officer, August 1944. During the war period he served on Niagara, September 1940-August 1942; Fort William, August 1942-January 1943, and Drummondville, May 1943-August 1945. Awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal in June 1943. Entitled to the 1939-45 Star; Atlantic Star; Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with clasp, and War Medal. Peters transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy in December 1945 and was released as a C2ER3 on 20 December 1960. With copied service papers.
