Arthur Labrie was born in Rimouski, Quebec, on 22 September 1877. A Bar Tender by occupation, he enlisted into the 77th Battalion at Ottawa in August 1915, but was serving in the 16th (Canadian Scottish) Battalion when he was killed in action on 2 September 1918, during the battle of the Drocourt-Quéant Line. He was buried in the Sun Quarry Cemetery, Cherisy; sold with a copied photograph of the recipient and copied service papers.
