Louis Gower was born in Bilsington, Ashford, Kent on 4 January 1858. He entered the Royal Navy as a Stoker 2nd Class on 23 February 1876. Appointed an Acting Engine Room Artificer in July 1881. Attained the rank of C.E.R.A. in April 1897. Pensioned ashore on 4 March 1898. With copied service paper.
