George Henry Williams was born in Brading, Isle of Wight and enlisted at Ryde, Isle of Wight. Serving as a Private in the 1st Battalion Hampshire Regiment, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 20 September 1914. He was killed in action on 8 November 1914, aged 35 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium. With copied research.
