William Hamilton was born in and enlisted at Paisley, Renfrewshire. Serving with the 1st/1st Renfrewshire Field Company R.E., he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 3 July 1916. He was buried in the Sucrerie Military Cemetery, Colincamps. Sapper Hamiliton was the son of William John and Euphemia Towers Knox Hamilton, of “Westmount”, Park Road, Paisley.
