The tobacco box London 1901 is of oval outline with a hinged lid, this with an applied button of the Volunteer Battalions of the Hampshire Regiment and is engraved ‘S.Africa 1900-1./Pte E.O.King./From Colonel E.K.Perkins./2.V.B.H.R’. The Attestation Papers are for short service (1 year with the Colours) and show that E.O. King a postman, attested at Winchester 24th January 1900 and was discharged on the termination of his engagement 24.5.01, the front of the tobacco box with some dents otherwise good condition (2) £100-150
