John Turley was born in Brierley Hill, Staffordshire, lived at Ansty Bank, Staffordshire, and enlisted at Warwick. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 12 September 1914. He was killed in action on 31 October 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. Clasp confirmed. With riband bar, copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
