Sharp, T., A Catalogue of Provincial Copper Coins, Tokens, Tickets, and Medalets, Issued in Great Britain, Ireland, and the Colonies, During the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries; Arranged according to Counties, &c., With particulars of their fabrication, names of the artists, and miscellaneous remarks illustrative of the rarity of particular specimens. Described from the originals in the collection of Sir George Chetwynd, Baronet, of Grendon Hall, in the County of Warwick. 1st edition, uncorrected proof. London, Privately Printed by J.B. Nichols & Son, 1834. 4to, later black buckram. (2), xiii-xxi index, (2), i-x intro, 280pp (the omission pp.xi-xii is correct). Vignette of a Grendon Hall token on title; no large engraved vignette of the hall on verso of last leaf. A manuscript note states ‘one of 60 copies’. Loosely inserted is a typewritten description of the book by Koorlander, ‘A fine uncorrected copy with a printer’s slip of corrections bound in…with original proof reader’s corrections…very, very rare.’ Rebound in 1952 (Manville 300). £1,200-1,500
