William Meek came from Dundee, Scotland. With the 1st Battalion Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 8 July 1915. Awarded the Military Medal for bravery in action; he was in addition awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War and Victory Medals. Meek was discharged to the Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 18 March 1919.
