2nd Lieutenant R. A. Butt (variously given as Richard or Robert Acton Butt), 5th Battalion Shropshire Light Infantry, was killed in action on 9 January 1916, aged 24 years. He was buried in the Hagle Dump Cemetery, Ieper, Belgium. He was the son of George William and Emily Sarah Butt, of Ther Lodge, Limpley Stoke, Bath. He was born in Shanghai, China.
William Baxter was born in Brighton, lived at Alton, Hampshire and enlisted at Chatham, Kent. Serving in the 1st Battalion Worcestershire, he was killed in action on 31 March 1916. He was buried in the Lievin Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France.
