Norman Winder Duck was awarded his D.S.C. for gallant deeds in H.M.S.
Starwort on the Murmansk run in March-May 1942, and his Bar for services as C.O. of the Second Escort Group in H.M.S. Starling, on the occasion of the destruction of the U-333 on 31 July 1944.
