Germany, Eröffnung des Nord-Ostsee-Kanals [Opening of the North Sea Canals], 1895, medals (9), viz. in gilt-bronze by Mayer & Wilhelm, conjoined busts of William I, Frederick III and William II right, rev. bridge illuminated by sun’s rays, boat on canal in foreground, 50mm (Lange 1373; Wurz. 6862); unsigned (2), in silver and brass, both 35mm (cf. Leipziger 66, 1319); in white metal, 34mm (cf. Westfälische 33, 2455); in nickel, 30mm; in aluminium, 39mm; in brass (3), one by Lauer, all with views of bridges, one with a train steaming across, all 30mm (Holland p.51) [9].
