Douglas Sharpus Andrews was born in Brighton, Sussex in 1886. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Garrison Artillery (T.F.), 14 October 1917 and was later promoted to Lieutenant. Entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 4 April 1918. Address on m.i.c. given as ‘School of Arts & Crafts, Green Lane, Derby’, and ”’Overdale”, Victoria Avenue, Borrowash, Nr. Derby’. With copied m.i.c.
