Charles Newton Streatfield joined the Royal Navy as a Midshipman, becoming an Acting Mate in June 1856; Mate, December 1856, and Lieutenant, May 1859. During the conflict with Russia he served aboard the Hannibal in both the Baltic and Crimea theatres of war, and was in the Hannibal’s second launch during the attack on Taganrog on 3 June 1855. Streatfield later served on the Pelorus, 1857; Clio, 1859, and Asia, 1861. He died c.1870; sold with copied research.
