David Michael Lawrence was born on 29 September 1931 and joined the Rhine Company R.M.A. Sandhurst as part of Intake 8 in 1950. On 8 February 1952 he was commissioned into the R.A.O.C. and after a short period of training was posted to Korea. In Korea he was praised for personally leading ammunition vehicles forward to re-supply the artiilery during the battle of the Hook. He was prromoted to Lieutenant on 7 February 1954, Temporary Captain in September 1955 and substantive Captain on 24 March 1959. In addition to Korea he served in Malta and Libya. He was an interpreter of Romanian and, after leaving the Army held a senior executive position with a charity in Bucharest. Sold with copied details.
