Private Ray K. Toon, Parachute Regiment, qualified as a parachute soldier, passing out with 307 Platoon on 26 November 1966. Serving mainly with 1 Para, he latterly attained the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) with the Henry Mellish School Contingent Combined Cadet Force on 28 November 1990 (London Gazette 19 March 1991).
