William James Bradley was born in Spitalfields, Middlesex, but resident at Clerkenwell at the time of his enlistment in the Rifle Brigade, and was killed in action on the Somme on 25 August 1916, while serving in the 12th Battalion. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
