M.S.M. notified in Army Order 300 of 1 December 1910.

George Saunders was born on 26 November 1831, at Panbridge, County Forfar. He attested in November 1851 at Dundee for the H.E.I.C. Artillery, and subsequently served in the Royal Artillery from May 1861 until November 1787, when he was discharged as a Battery Sergeant Major. He did not see any active service and was awarded the L.S. & G.C. medal in 1871. After his service in the Regular Army he joined the Militia and became a member of the Permanent Staff of the Haddington Artillery Militia. George Saunders died on 14 April 1911, aged 79. Sold with copy service papers.
