James Arthur Brinkler was born and lived in Battersea, London and enlisted at Kingston-on-Thames. Serving as a Driver with 56th H.Q. Company, 1st Divisional Train, Army Service Corps, he died on 20 July 1916. He was buried in the Daours Communal Cemetery Extension. He was the son of Joseph and Mary Jane Brinkler of 12 Shillington Street, Battersea.
