D.C.M. London Gazette 15 April 1916. ‘For gallantry and devotion to duty. In a mine explosion he, with three other men, continued bombing and firing till forced back. On a counter-attack being made he rendered material assistance’.
William T. Palmer, East Surrey Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 1 June 1915. He later served in the Labour Corps.
