Frederick William Woods attended Trinity College Dublin and gained the degrees of B.A. in 1903 and M.A. in 1909. He was ordained Deacon in 1903 and Priest in 1905. Woods was Curate of Drumlease, Co. Leinster, 1903-08 and Carrigallen, 1908-11. Appointed a Royal Navy Chaplain, he served on the London, 1911-12; Hibernia, 1912-15; Isis, 1915-16, and Laurentic 1916. Then posted to Chatham, he was placed on the Retired List with a gratuity in December 1916, his performance of duty being found to be ‘unsatisfactory’. He then served as Curate of All Saints, South Lambeth, 1917-19; was Chaplain at Maida Vale, 1919-23 and Vicar of Arlesey with Astwick in the Diocese of St. Albans from 1923. Sold with copied service papers and other research.
