David Douglas was born in Creich, Fife, and living at Balbeggie, Perthshire, enlisted at Cowdenbestle. Serving with the the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards, he was killed in action on 30 November 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial.
George Scott Prowse was born and lived in Chudleigh and enlisted at London. Serving with the 10th Hussars, he was killed in action on 31 October 1914, aged 29 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. He was the son of Emma Prowse of Sowell’s Farm, Kentisbeare, Cullompton, Devon.
