Morlon, female figure in armour and Gallic helmet left, rev. branches of oak, inscription around (Matinée des Croix de Guerre, Offerte par ‘Le Journal’), tablet in centre named (Au Capitaine Maurice Orgias, 1er Février 1916), 63mm (Frankenhuis 238; CGMP p.269; BDM VIII, 78; V & A Exh. Cat. 1998, 33; cf. DNW 70C, 2526). Reverse edge bruise at 1 o’clock, otherwise very fine and rare as a named award (£120-150)
