Arthur Toms was born in Holborn, Middlesex, lived at King’s Cross and enlisted at St. Pancras, Middlesex. Serving with the 1st Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 4 October 1915. He was killed in action on 16 September 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. He was the son of Frank and Louisa Toms of 20 Southampton Street, Barnsbury, London.
