New Zealand 1845-66, reverse dated ‘1864 to 1865’ (782 Wm. Clune, 65th Regt.) edge bruising, about very fine £350-400

William Clune was born in Six Mile Bridge, Co. Clare. a Labourer by occupation and a member of the Clare Militia, he attested for service in the 65th Regiment at Limerick on 14 January 1861, aged 18 years. With them he served in New Zealand, October 1863-October 1865 and in India, January 1871-December 1881. He was discharged on 11 April 1882 at the termination of his second period of limited engagement. Sold with copied service papers and roll extracts.
