Frederick McTighe, from Beaugh, Co. Galway, attested at Manchester in May 1826 for unlimited service in the East India Company’s European Infantry. He joined the recruit depot at Brompton Barracks, Chatham, in June 1826 and was thence allocated to Bengal. Travelling on the Malcolm, he arrived at Calcutta on 22 October 1826 and was posted as a Private in the 1st Bengal European Infantry. He saw service at Ghuznee. McTighe died at Subathu, Punjab, on 28 October 1845. Sold with copied research.
