Sydney Francis Short was born on 7 September 1911. He served in the Royal Australian Navy but was attached to the Royal Navy during the Korean War.

Sold with W.W.2 medal forwarding slip; a named British Forces Identity Certificate; a named liberty pass; an old newspaper cutting entitled, ‘Enemy Convoy Destroyed off Norway’; a cloth badge of a Seamanship Specialist in the R.A.N.; a cigarette case, bearing the initials ‘SS’ and inscribed, ‘S. Shortman from the Ex Servicemen of the Eastville Club, May 1951’; a modern cloth blazer badge and a riband bar.
