Lieutenant Alec Hallenstein Hyams, 9th attached 3rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers, was killed in action on 3 May 1915, aged 20 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. The Memorial Plaque with original paper envelope addressed to ‘F. Hyams Esq., The Old House, Eastergate, Chichester, Sussex’.
