The Tulip Rally, which was first held in 1949, covered 2000 miles through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Although the road sections were considered somewhat easy, there were a number of special sections or stages, which took in the then grand prix courses at the Nürburgring in Germany and Zandvoort in Holland
