Bowcher, edge named (Sydney Carter, Subject 8C2, 1898), 51mm; London Business Houses A[mateur] S[porting] A[ssociation], a gold award medal by Toye, engraved (Football Premier League, Prem. Div., Winners, 1932-33), hallmarked London 1932, 26mm, 9ct, 8.38g; COINEX silver medals (3), 1987-8-9, all 65mm, second with certificate no. 002; other miscellaneous medals, badges, etc (16, two in gold and seven in silver) [24]. First fine and rare but with suspender bar broken off, others described generally extremely fine, several in cases, remainder in varied state (£120-150)
Sydney Carter (1874-1945), born in Enfield, lived in South Africa from 1923 until his death. He painted portraits and landscapes which generally incorporated trees and was also a cartoonist working in oils and gouache
