D.C.M. London Gazette 5 August 1915. (Edinburgh Gazette 13 August 1915) ‘For gallant conduct and devotion to duty on the 13th May, 1915, at Ypres, when he carried messages under extremely heavy fire, and rendered invaluable service’.

Private Arthur Spencer Watts, 11th Hussars, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 15 August 1914. Awarded the D.C.M. for his bravery on 13 May 1915 during the 2nd Battle of Ypres, Watts is mentioned in the book
History of the Eleventh Hussars 1908-1934, by Capt. L. R. Lumley, ‘... and Private A. S. Watts, whose fine conduct was reported to the Regiment by a squadron leader of the 19th Hussars’. He later served in the Labour Corps. 11 Great War D.C.M’s. to the 11th Hussars. Sold with copied research and three 11th Hussars badges.
