John Quinn was awarded the Coronation Medal in 1953 while serving as a Warrant Officer at R.A.F. Lichfield (official roll refers). Moreover, it seems probable that his British Fire Services Association Medal was awarded in respect of services in the R.A.F.’s Fire & Rescue Service, which unit’s men were automatically elected members of the Association.
