William George Beecroft was born in Seacombe, Birkenhead and enlisted at Birkenhead. Serving with the 2nd/6th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, he was killed in action on 25 March 1918. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial. He was the only son of William and martha Beecroft of 11 Belle Vue Road, Seacombe, Wallasey, Cheshire.
