Frank Vickers Needham, born on 10 March 1863, attested for service in the South African Constabulary on 27 March 1901. He was discharged as medically unfit for service in the S.A.C. on 20 June 1901. Captain F. L. Vaux, Junior Medical Officer, stated that, ‘Trooper Needham appeared before me on Sick Parade about 10 days ago, he was suffering from malnutrition as he was absolutely without teeth and had no plate, he was unable to masticate his food, he was admitted to hospital and since then has been kept entirely on soft diet, I consider him absolutely unfitted for service in the South African Constabulary and recommend him to be discharged. Sold with copied service papers.
