Memorial Plaque 1914-18 (John Henry Powell), in damaged card envelope, very fine £30-40

Several men with these names/initials; possibly Stoker 1st Class John Henry Powell, Royal Navy, who was killed in action on 2 May 1917, aged 21 years, when the destroyer H.M.S. Derwent was mined and sunk. He was the son of Lucy Elizabeth Bird (formerly Powell) and Thomas H. Bird (stepfather) of 8 Rifle Street, Poplar, London.
