Scott Dernie was born on 20 September 1969 and enlisted at Sheffield on 2 June 1986. Trained as a Telecommunications Operator at the Army Apprentice College, 1986-88, he served with 14 Signals Regiment, 1988-94 and with 204 Signal Squadron (4th Armoured Brigade) H.Q. Signal Squadron, 1994-98. During this period he saw service in Bosnia with 204 Signal Squadron and also served with 210 Signal Squadron, Air Mobile Brigade, in Kosovo. During the years 1998-2001 he was with 210/216 Signal Squadrons. Dernie served in Sierra Leone from May 2000, where his unit was responsible for communications for the Parachute Regiment, until the arrival of 30 Signals Regiment. Corporal Dernie left the army with exemplary reports on 23 March 2001, after completing just under 15 years military service. Sold with copied testimonials and certificates.
