E. H. Bolt first entered the French theatre of war as a Private in the 2nd Battalion, Monmouthshire Regiment in early November 1914, thereby qualifying for the 1914 Star. He subsequently transferred to the ‘Welsh Army Corps, R.F.A.’ and was advanced to Corporal. His MIC entry confirms the award of his T.E.M. in an Army Order of May 1928.
