Victoria (1837-1901), 1860, by L.C. Wyon, in bronze, young head left, hair tied in a bun, victoria · d · g · britanniarum regina around, rev. Britannia seated left, lcw below shield, one penny around, date in exergue in thick numerals widely spaced, beaded borders both sides, edge plain, 9.57g/11h (F 756 [Sale, lot 228]; BMC 2046; Adams 197). Trifling surface marks in obverse field, rim partly toned, a spot in reverse field, otherwise brilliant and virtually as struck, extremely rare (£1,200-1,500)
