Cecil Haddon Cook joined the Inns of Court Officers Training Corps on 24 January 1916. After service in Nos. 6 and 4 Companies, he went to No. 2 Officer Cadet Battalion on 14 August 1916, and was commissioned into the Manchester Regiment as 2nd Lieutenant on 18 December 1917. He served in France with the 23rd Battalion and was killed in action at Passchendaele on 22 October 1917. He is commemorated by name on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
