John Jordan was born in Chelsea, London and attested for the 12th Lancers at Westminster on 2 July 1853, aged 19 years. Promoted Corporal in 1866, he was awarded the L.S. & G.C. in 1871 with a gratuity of £5. He was in possession of four good conduct badges and medals for service in the Crimea and India when he was discharged at his own request on 15 July 1874. Sold with copied discharge papers.
