Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society, General Medal, silver (To Francis Little for Gallant Service, 29th October 1917) thick flan type, with silver buckle on ribbon, edge bruise, otherwise nearly extremely fine £160-200
‘Silver Medal, Certificate of Thanks, and £5 to Francis Little; also Bronze Medal and Certificate of Thanks to Sidney Neal, for a gallant attempt to stop a runaway horse attached to a float in Park Lane, on October 29th, 1917. Unfortunately, Little was struck by the shaft and knocked down, the wheel of the float passing over his body, causing serious injury. Neal was also thrown down but escaped with a few bruises. Little was conveyed to hospital and detained’ (Extract from the L.S.& H.S. 79th Annual Report).
