Harrison, 10th Hussars) officially impressed naming; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, unnamed; Order of the Medjidie, 5th class, silver, gold and enamels, the first with contact marks and pitting from Medjidie, otherwise nearly very fine or better (3) £600-800

Broadley Harrison was born on 8 November 1821, and appointed Cornet in the 11th Light Dragoons on 11 October 1839. He was promoted to Lieutenant in September 1841, to Captain in June 1844, and transferred to the 10th Hussars later in the same year, becoming Major in November 1852. He served with the 10th Hussars in the Crimea from 17 April to 5 August, 1855, and was present at the capture of Tchorgaun and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with clasp, Turkish Medal, and 5th class of the Medjidie). He was made Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in October 1858; Lieutenant-Colonel, 11th Hussars, June 1859; Brevet Colonel, May 1863; Major-General, November 1868; Lieutenant-General, March 1882; Colonel of the 13th Hussars, October 1883. Lieutenant-General Harrison died on 7 July 1890. See Lot 110 for the D.S.O. group awarded to his son.
