John Charles Ramson Pellow was born at Helston, Cornwall in July 1901 and entered the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class in November 1916. He subsequently witnessed active service aboard the battle cruiser Renown from November 1917 until the end of hostilities, and aboard the destroyer Basilisk off Palestine in 1936. Until such time the remainder of his service record is released, no further information is available on his subsequent career, but almost certainly he witnessed further active service in the 1939-45 War. He is known, however, to have been awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in August 1934.
