A Scottish basket hilted broadsword, mid 18th century, the wide heavy 31 inch double-edged blade having three central fullers, struck with XX on both sides and a running wolf mark, steel basket hilt with panels finely pierced with hearts and pellets, side panels supported by saltires, fine line engraved decoration overall, half-round hilt bars, plain bun shaped pommel with tang button, spirally carved wood grip with original leather covering, brass ferrules, some light pitting to blade, otherwise good condition having a good patina overall £650-700
