D.C.M. London Gazette 26 April 1917 ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He has performed consistent good work throughout, and has set at all times a fine example to those under him.’

J. Lever served in Gallipoli, Egypt and France and was wounded in 1918.
