Albert Bennett was born at Horwich, Lancashire on 2 August 1891. He enlisted on 2 August 1914, serving as a S.R.A. at Haslar Hospital and on Pembroke I (Chatham). Bennett joined the auxiliary cruiser Clan Naughton on 11 December 1914 and was killed in action on 13 February 1915 when the ship was lost with all hands in the Atlantic, presumably sunk by enemy submarine. His name is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial. Sold with copied research details.
