Kings of Wessex, Æthelberht (858-65/6), Inscribed Cross issue, Penny, struck at Canterbury, by the moneyer Hereferth, draped bust right, head contained within beaded inner circle, +aeðelbearht rex around, rev. voided cross traced with beaded line, +herefr-eð mo arranged on limbs, n-e-t-a in angles. 1.19g/6h (Naismith 188i, this coin; N 620; S 1053). Some edge loss, otherwise extremely fine, grey tone over excellent surfaces £1,200-£1,500
