FRANCE, 25ème anniversaire du Comptoir Français de l’Azote [The French Nitrogen Counter], 1932, an Art Déco bronze medal by P.-M. Dammann for Arthus-Bertrand, robed female to right, stood on sheaf of wheat and holding a scythe, gesturing to a farmer with two oxen, rev. three sheaves of wheat dividing dates, edge impressed bronze and with foundry mark, 80mm, 239.30g (cf. iNumis MBS 22, 1454; cf. The Comptoir Français de l'Azote was spun out of the Sulfate d’Ammoniaque, originally founded in 1907, in 1920. An assemblage of 15 private mining companies, the comptoir permitted the marketing of ammonia and nitrogen fertilizer across all areas of France
